What is your immediate post-MBA professional goal? (50 characters maximum)
Establish a tech startup in the paper industry

Through your resume and recommendation, we have a clear sense of your professional path to date. What are your career goals over the next three to five years and what is your long-term dream job? (500 words)

While attending an art show where Pam, one of my employees at Dunder Mifflin and a fellow founding team member of Michael Scott Paper Company, was showcasing her drawings, I had just come back from an event where I spoke and was asked about the future of the paper industry, which was facing a decline. At that time, I didn't have a definite answer. However, witnessing Pam's joy at the art exhibition provided me with the answer. Whether it's a love letter, a greeting card, a contract, or a piece of art, paper plays a significant role in connecting us in the realm of relationships. In that moment of reflection, I understood what fueled my passion for the paper industry - the ability to connect with others on a personal level.

Post-MBA, my immediate goal is to launch a tech startup in the paper and office supply industry that helps promote the positive usage of paper in domains such as art, with climate conscious approach so while we embrace the future with technology, we can still celebrate the things that bring us together. Marshall Eriksen (Class of 2004 Columbia Law) showed me how Columbia lies at the intersection of my entrepreneurial pursuits, advocacy for climate and love for New York's vibrant culture.

In the drop-in hours at Eugene Lang Center for Entrepreneurship, I really got to learn about the unique aspects of Launch where the course planner allows me to take classes tailored to me culminating with Entrepreneurial Greenhouse, allowing me to work in an accelerator-type course to help me launch my startup. I am most excited by the Summer Startup track where I can get advice from my peers, tailored advice from seasoned professionals and get a front row seat to see industry leaders guide me on the future path. I can use my learnings from my previous startup with a successful exit and combine it with the strategies taught in these practical learning experiences to drive transformational growth for my next startup.

Knowing that Tamer institute for social enterprise and climate change was helping reshape the ESG investing at Columbia was a delight. Afterall, promoting responsible usage of paper with multiple options such as reuse, reduce and recycle, came out of the research of the institute - which happens to be available on paper in many hardcover books available globally. I want to learn how ESG investing works as it will allow me to learn the mindset of the investors who are looking to help shape the world as we know it. It will allow me to adopt more responsible approaches to structure the business model so we can attract more investments and get a network of supporters on the board who can help us navigate the challenges we face as a climate conscious company.

To conclude, New York City has a vibrance that I thrive on- be it in my corporate trips or be it in my favourite pizza place- Sbarro. There is no parallel to New York city as a business center for the industry I am in but beyond that my love for New York has been parallel to none as has been noted by many of my colleagues when they see me travel to New York. I know for certain that staying in the center of business will aid immensely in pursuit of my long-term goal of leading a global company known for bringing people together with paper.

And here is what Michael Scott sent us, it would be a fun read!

"So, picture this: I'm at an art show admiring Pam's drawings, feeling all inspired. Meanwhile, back at Dunder Mifflin, the paper industry is in a bit of a pickle. But hey, watching Pam's joy in creating art made me realize something profound - paper isn't just for printing memos, it's a vessel for human connection! Who knew paper could be so deep, right?

Now, post-MBA plans? I'm thinking of starting a tech startup in the paper world. Yep, you heard me right. We're going to revolutionize the office supply sector with a dash of eco-friendliness and a sprinkle of artistry. Because why not bring some flair to the world of paper? Plus, I'm pretty sure Marshall Eriksen from Columbia Law would approve of this quirky idea.

Fast forward to me at the Eugene Lang Center, soaking up all the entrepreneurial wisdom. Launching my own startup with the help of the Entrepreneurial Greenhouse? It's like a reality show, but with less drama and more business savvy. And don't even get me started on the Summer Startup track - it's like a crash course in startup success, with a side of mentorship and a sprinkle of industry secrets. Watch out world, I'm about to paper-cut my way to the top!

It was a hoot to find out that the Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate Change was shaking things up at Columbia with their ESG investing magic. These folks are so serious about responsible paper usage that they probably write their research on recycled banana peels! Their work is so well-documented that even aliens on Mars are reading about it in their hardcover books. I can't wait to dive into the world of ESG investing and join the ranks of investors who are out there trying to save the planet one dollar at a time. Who knew that being eco-friendly could also attract more green into our pockets? Time to turn our business model into a sustainability extravaganza and gather a squad of eco-warriors to help us conquer the challenges ahead!

In short, New York City is my personal Energizer Bunny, keeping me charged up whether I'm sealing deals or scarfing down Sbarro pizza like it's my last meal on Earth. The Big Apple is like the Beyoncé of business hubs, always stealing the spotlight in my industry. My colleagues have even started a betting pool on how many times I'll jet off to NYC in a year - let's just say, I'm the reigning champ!"
